On January 21, 2017 I attended the Women’s March on Montpelier, Vermont with my wife, Rodrica. I was moved by the participants’ grace, determination, and optimism. After their disappointment with the outcome of the previous November’s election, I wasn’t sure there was any optimism left.
We were part of a group of 15,000 (three times the expected number) marching from the high school to the state house. There were young girls who clearly knew why they were there and older women who figured their protesting days were over long ago. And there were many men, proud as hell to be part of it all.
