Sweetheart Like You
I began making pictures of the Coal City Rollers when the team formed early in 2006. I was enthralled, and spent the next two years photographing the action on the sidelines of the roller rink or in the beer joints of Plains, Pennsylvania, after practice. Slitstine, Malice in Wonderland, Vicki Sin, and the rest skated hard in spite of broken bones, troubled love-lives, child-care issues, and a perpetual lack of funding.
